About Us
We unite 43 Primary Cooperative Societies across Arusha and Kiteto since 1988 — collecting and marketing coffee, pigeon peas, sunflower, honey, maize and livestock for member farmers.
ACU Ltd is registered under the Co-operative Societies Act No. 14 of 1982 (Reg. AFF-ARS-ARS-CC-2023-51). We unite 43 primary AMCOS across Arusha Region and Kiteto District, serving over 50,000 farmers since 1988 through farmer education, market access, inputs and extension support.
The vision of the Union is to enhance the quality competitiveness and profitability in the markets by improving the member's satisfaction needs.
In order to fulfil the obligation of the members, the Union has to: (1) promote the economic interest and arrange for production of coffee and other agricultural produce; (2) educate the members, Board and staff through seminars, workshops, study tours and agriculture shows; (3) act as buying and selling agents for all operations connected with the marketing of members' societies produce; (4) raise or negotiate loans from financial institutions; (5) advise, direct and supervise member societies in preparation of their annual estimates of income and expenditure.

ACU leadership and AMCOS representatives pose with the newly purchased green digital platform scales during the official handover ceremony. The 38 digital scales will ensure accurate and transparent crop weighing across all member cooperative societies in Arusha and Kiteto.
Arusha Co-operative Union presented its 2024/2025 Arabica lots to buyers and TCB inspectors, highlighting improved cupping scores from member farmers in Arumeru and Monduli.
ACU quality officers wrapped up a two-week cupping and grading program aligned with TCB standards.
The annual Kahawa Festival convened all 43 primary cooperative societies under ACU, celebrating the harvest season with farmer awards and a governance forum.

ACU is involved in the collection of mixed crops from its members. Currently, ACU is engaged in the collection of coffee, sunflower, honey, pigeon peas, maize, and livestock.
ACU's primary and foundational cash crop — collected from smallholder farmers across Arusha and Kiteto. ACU coordinates collection, processing, grading, and marketing in compliance with Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) quality standards.
